They're fast, melodic, POWER
POP ROCK from Columbus, Ohio... they're
The Marbles!! This
all original trio has been together for
a short period of time, but they have
managed to make their mark on the music
scene nonetheless. The Marbles attract
fans of street rock, punk, and metal to
those who prefer the radio friendly pop
and rock music. This wide spread appeal
has allowed The Marbles to play many different
kinds of venues and to be recognized in
various music scenes.
The Marbles released their
debut CD, "Rick's Not Dead."
In July of 1999. This album propelled
The Marbles further ahead as it received
excellent reviews locally and nationally.
To promote the debut album, The Marbles
toured regionally and nearly sold all
their CD;s. One year and a ton more fans
later, The Marbles went back into the
studio to record their next album, Seduction,
which will be released in January 2001
(but you can buy it here NOW on the AMN!)
Reviews:
MUTANT POP (August 99): "...Excellent,
of course, power pop, of course. Well
recorded hit stuff featuring a honey-throated
female lead vocalist"
The Columbus Dispatch (July
2, 1999): "Throughout the Album (Rocks'
Not Dead) Manda, Joe Mertz, and Mark Slack
play a post -punk rock that recalls the
Go-Go's tougher songs."
Now Wave Magazine (August,
1999): "Manda has a rich, emotionally-charged,
classic new wave voice.... The Marbles
are an improvement on new wave pop circa
1982"
