All Campus Radio Network otherwise known as the Rock Lobster. ACRN is a student run cable based radio station that primarily serves students on the campus of Ohio University. They also broadcast via the net using shoutcast at low and high bandwidth. (56k modem, cable or ADSL needed)
AMN shoutcast website A web based radio station that uses shoutcast to broadcast a mix of mostly local and some non local indie, rock, alternative, and jam music. This station is an experiment to prove to commercial radio stations that local music can coexist with major label tunes and still be fun to listen to. With over 40 GB of local music mp3's, the AMN broadcasts at high bandwidth (cable or ADSL needed)
WAIS 770 AM "Classic Country" format (50's - 80's), with popular (and
infamous) call-programs like "Viewpoint" and "Sell-A-Thon."
WATH 970 AM Commercial news and talk radio. The sister station of Power105.
WEAK 106.7 Locally owned and operated, this low power station specializes in obscure oldies, has a cool talking clock, a 24-7 broadcast schedule and absolutely no comercials.

They broadcast the critically acclaimed"Mountain Stage" and "Piano Jazz" radio shows. They also broadcast shows from the Fur Peace Ranch. News, talk, sports and classical music during the day, at night the station falls into the hands of Ohio University student D.J's and the format changes to indie, emo, rock, and shades of color--a hip-hop show. With a power of 1000 watts, this station reaches the entire city of Athens and just a little beyond it's borders. But, AM radio has weird characteristics, so on a good day, you can probably get the signal in Mexico.
WSEO 107.7 FM "Hot Country" format. Almost exclusively music, have
promoted local music contests in the past and have given airtime to local/regional acts, such as The Rarely Herd.
WXTQ 105.5 FM website Power 105 is Athens only commercial format radio station. Adult contemporary and pop alternative during the work day, after 7 PM the format changes to edgier hard rock and alternative. If you spot their converted ambulance (called the "Jambulance") at local business, chances are that they are doing a live remote.
