The Recipe	Self described on their web site as "Appalachian grown, primal-ccoustic roots rock", this band features catchy hooks, fun beats and riffage that would make Mr. Garcia smile. Touring nationally, the band has stopped by Athens in-between gigs opening for bands like Jazz Is Dead, Buckwheat Zydeco, Merl Saunders & the Rainforest Band, Derek Trucks Band, Aquarium Rescue Unit, and Gov't Mule. Red Wanting Blue	If you haven't heard of these guys then you must have been living in a cage. Originally from Lancaster, Ohio the band moved to Athens to attend Ohio University. Now based out of Columbus, these boys have Athens in their back pocket. They are the only truly radio-worthy top-40 pop-rock band to regullarly visit Athens. Rev. Peyton & Big Damn Band	The Big Damn Band has performed live on NPR on Michael Feldman's Whad'Ya Know, Sirius Satellite Radio, Jerry Springer, and more. Ritual Space Travel Agency	The music of this band is influenced by such disparate artists as Sly and the Family Stone, Tom Waits, Los Lobos, Sun Ra, Frank Zappa, Igor Stravinsky and Tiny Tim. I’m lying about Tiny Tim, but mentioning Igor Stravinsky seemed too pretentious. Ritual Space Travel Agency is tirelessly dedicated to the quest to make people dance to strange music. [ 3 Songs ]
