| Paper Airplane | Paper Airplane, based out of Cincinnati/Columbus, Ohio, has set it's mark on creating music that never really goes where you expect it to go, and yet retains that feeling of flow and familiarity. Since 1998 singer/songwriter Ryan Horns has been writing under the name "The Last Hotel," but it was time for a change and a whole new focus on why and how music can be used to affect people. The key was the luck in meeting drummer Antonio Garza (Asher), bassist Jeremy Darwin Foltz (Planet-12, Pasquali) and keyboardist Teresa Kent. Together, the band has found a way to make creative songs that jump across the board from dirty rock to delicate acoustic melodies, while always staying original. Paper Airplane is set to document it's new music at Relay Recording, with engineer Jon Fintel this summer. Over the years, the band has supported such national recording artists as Mates of State, The Waxwings, Howlin' Maggie, the legendary Dick Dale, The Minders, The Damnwells, Watershed, Mayday, Pacific UV, The Trouble with Sweeney, The High Strung, The National and more.... | The Ponys | THE PONYS Laced With Romance Yes, it's another bare-bones rock band with an article in its name, and no, it's not striated with white stripes. The Ponys come on primal and fierce, feeding time-tested riffs (think Velvets, Standells) intro a cyclotron of fuzzy guitar distortion. Vocalist Jered has Tom Verlaine's petulant whine and a gift form mangling words into mush. These white punks are dope. -- Entertainment Weekly 4/2/2004 [ 1 Song ] [ 1 Concert ] [ 1 Photo ] |
| Poophouse Reilly | Hoo-Ha! Hee-larious country rock tunes about prison bitches, picking your nose, and drinkin' beer. [ 3 Concerts ] [ 1 Photo ] |
| Porous | From their roots in jazz inspired funk, up to the perpetually intoxicating progressive rock feel that the band takes on today, Porous has been through hell and back to bring a sound you have never heard before. Solid rock drum beats, a blistering twin guitar assault, a bone shaking bass line, and vocals ranging from angelic to scathing, make up the group that is Porous.
